We source only the finest quality timber to be used in the manufacturing of all our panels and the results speak for themselves. Where possible and practical we use timber that has been pressure treated with preservative in accordance with the penetration and retention guidance given in BS EN 351-1, to give a desired service life in the selected Use Class defined in BS EN 335-1. This ensures that our panels will remain in place for many, many years and is why so many people walk back through the doors 15 – 20 years later to replace what they have previously bought from us.
As timber is a natural product and as such is subject to natural characteristics it is very difficult to offer a comprehensive guarantee on products such as fencing panels. I read websites that offer a 15 year guarantee but when you look a little deeper at the conditions and exclusions they are simply paying lip service to such a claim. An example of this is when the European manufactured screen panels were introduced onto the market. These were very pleasing to the eye and as they were manufactured from pressure treated timber carried a 15 year guarantee against rot. What they weren’t guaranteed against is that they were very cheaply manufactured using small staples to hold the panel together and within one year of their explosion onto the market there were installations where the panels were simply falling apart. The timber would be perfectly fine for many years to come but that is not much good if it is in pieces lay on the floor between your posts. At Stockport Fencing Ltd we do not place unrealistic guarantees on our fencing products. What we do say is that on receipt of your products and upon examining the quality for yourself, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase we will collect it within the first seven days completely free of charge and offer a replacement or full refund. Once you’ve taken delivery and are satisfied with the quality we will offer a further 2 years guarantee against manufacturing defects.
